About the creator
Luis Alexander Gonzalez-Poma is the unapologetically nerdy disabled mind behind Disabled Comics, but you can call him Alex. Luis is passionate about creating inclusive storytelling that represents the disabled community in comics and graphic novels in a meaningful engaging manner that portrays the diverse community of disability in a positive light no stereotypes no butt of the jokes.
Born and raised in Fairfax, Virginia Luis grew up loving a great many things, sports, cars, music but his biggest love was and is to this day…comics. As a full-time wheelchair user himself, he knows the significance of seeing oneself represented so imagine his surprise when he went to the shelves of book stores and while he found many amazing superheroes none of them he could truly connect with.
thus the seed was planted for Disabled Comics. Today Luis and his killer art and writing team are creating comics, creating a universe of heroes with disabilities both visible and invisible.
Disabled Comics was written for the disabled community, by the disabled community. Because, Every Hero Has A Story-Ours Break Barriers.
